Thirty Photographs [2019]

Interested in exploring the differences between our physical experiences of an object versus a mediated experience of it through imagery, I created a piece that explores the process of transition from ‘objecthood’ to representation and vice versa. Comprised of thirty still images, the project involves shifting a work from one medium (paper sculpture) into other mediums (photographs and video).

Thirty Photographs aims to explore the ambiguous and evocative perceptual and experiential grey areas between images and objects. Furthermore, it is an attempt to reveal the constructed aspect of pictorial representations, and the impossibility to replicate the experience of encountering an object in real perceptual space.
